Since gaining his new ship, Wulfrik has embraced his cursed odissey, accepting the honourable charge the Chaos gods have given him. For he had heard tales of a ship blessed by the Dark Gods with the power to circumvent the greatest distances in the blink of an eye, which was in the keeping of a Chaos Sorceress: the Skaeling witch Baga Yar, who dwelt in a vast fortress garrisoned by hordes of daemons. In the end, it was Sigvatr, a grizzled Marauder and long-time comrade, who solved the conundrum. In order to accomplish his new found duty, Wulfrik required transport beyond the abilities of a mere longship. Even as he began burning the Kurgan's toes from his feet, the Shaman was incapable of telling the angry champion where the thoughts were coming from. Wulfrik, a man with a bad temper by any standard, was not amused and made certain the Kurgan died slowly.
A shaman of the Kurgan tribes recognized this as the Gift of Tongues and enthusiastically pronounced Wulfrik as blessed. Wulfrik also found himself being able to speak in a thousand different languages and his tongue has been twisted in a flute-like shape. He must travel the world, challenging the mightiest warriors of every nation and race to a duel and if he fails, he will be punished with being tortured by daemons for eternity. They emissary told Wulfrik they lay a curse on him that would force him to try backing up his claims of being the ultimate warrior. Later, Wulfrik was visited by an emissary of the Chaos gods, who told him that his boasts offended them but also amused them. Pride proved the Chosen's downfall, however.ĭuring a great feast held in Wulfrik's honor, he, in a drunken stupor, boasted that no man or beast in the whole world and beyond is capable of surpassing his skills as a warrior. In the violent societies of Norsca, Wulfrik was famed, and many sagas were sung to his glory by the skald bards of Norsca. Wulfrik forged his infamy by taking the heads of every rival Chaos warrior who crossed his path, proudly displaying them for all to see as a declaration of his power and the folly of challenging him.
